The RPI Concert Choir is one of the oldest performing arts groups on campus. After joining the choir in Fall 2005, I was nominated to take over as the publicity director for the group. As part of an ongoing effort to be more involved not only with other campus groups, but with the community at large, it became necessary to revamp our online presence as it had not been updated in about 3 years.
In addition to updating the information about group officers and members, I redesigned the site itself to make information more easily accessible. It is now obvious where users need to look for information regarding performances, rehearsals, and contacting officers. I worked with other members of the choir to get inpur on what type of information should be on the site and how it should look and feel.
While this was not a highly technical project, I am still proud of it because it finally gave a good outer face to a group that deserves much more recognition than it receives. There is not a need for anything involving databases or user login, but it is necessary for information to be easily accessible in order to be a successful performing arts group.
